Filipino food has developed over many centuries from its Malayo-Polynesian roots to a diverse cuisine with numerous Hispanic cultural influences, due to the large number of Spanish dishes and Latin American dishes and ingredients brought to the Philippines during the Spanish colonial period. It has also inherited varying level of influence from other Asian Cuisine. Remarkably, the Filipino food has its own unique and distinct flavor that is remarkably delicious.
